J. Paul Malone Appointed King’s Counsel
Willows LLP is proud to announce that Partner, J. Paul Malone, has been appointed as King’s Counsel (K.C.) by the Province of Saskatchewan. This esteemed honour is conferred on lawyers who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the legal profession and public life in Saskatchewan.
"We have a long history of celebrating the most dedicated and talented legal professionals in Saskatchewan and across Canada through the King's Counsel designations," Deputy Premier Jim Reiter said. "I am proud to announce this year's designates, who represent a wide range of expertise and knowledge from across Saskatchewan's legal community."
Admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1985, Paul Malone maintains a diverse practice with an emphasis on civil litigation, including employment law, labour relations, administrative law, and commercial litigation. Beyond his professional achievements, Paul has a long history of community involvement, having served on numerous boards and committees throughout his career. This includes chairing the Administrative and Labour Law Section (South) of the Canadian Bar Association in Saskatchewan, and serving a 12-year term as a trustee of the Regina Catholic School Board—during which he also served as board chair. In addition, he was a member of the Board of Regents of Campion College, serving a term as Chair.
King’s Counsel appointments are based on recommendations from a selection committee consisting of Saskatchewan's Justice Minister and Attorney General, the Chief Justice of the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan or Chief Justice of the Court of King's Bench, and past presidents of the Saskatchewan branch of the Canadian Bar Association and Law Society of Saskatchewan.
We congratulate Paul on this prestigious recognition and thank him for his exemplary service to our firm, our clients, and the wider community.
