About Monte

Monte received his Bachelor of Administration from University of Regina in 1977 and from the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan in 1978. Upon graduation, Monte commenced employment as a Landman with Petro Canada Exploration and then moved into the Law Department at Petro Canada. He was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1981 and to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1984.

While working in the Petro Canada legal department Monte was involved in all aspects of the Hibernia Oil Project. Monte is one of the few lawyers in Saskatchewan to complete a shortline railroad purchase from the start-up to the operational stages. Monte has and continues to act in many business acquisitions and sales throughout Saskatchewan including being involved in corporate financing and corporate re-organizations.

Monte also has a wealth of hands-on business experience having been involved as a manager and part-owner of a major hotel operation in the 1980s as well as a real estate and commercial property developer throughout the Province. Monte presently sits on the Boards of one reporting issuer and two private corporations involved in the real estate industry in Saskatchewan. Monte is also active in his community and is a member of Canadian Association of Family Enterprises (CAFE).

Monte is a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan and Canadian Bar Association. Monte has received a CV* peer review rating for having high legal ability and ethical standards.

*The rating is compiled based on a peer based review system which is independently operated by the Prestigious American based Lexis-Nexis/Martindale Hubbell Association.
